Larcenous Designs

About

So, what is this all about?

I’m Nathan Rockwood (or ‘Nathaniel CJS Rockwood,’ if you know my name from the Serenity RPG credits), a writer/developer of RPGs, and currently a student in college. I’m a born geek (my earliest memories are of Star Trek and Dr. Who), and I first came upon roleplaying games when I stumbled across my parents’ old AD&D boxed sets (the red one and the blue one, I believe) when I was too young to really understand them. However, intrigued by the maps, I returned to them later, when I learned how to read. I’ve been gaming pretty much since then.

Larcenous Designs is my favorite pick of a name for a game design group, which hopefully will someday see the publication of SOMETHING. Until then, I write games for fun and for hire—my first publication credit was in the Serenity Roleplaying Game by Margaret Weis Productions, and I continue to work for MWP on the Battlestar Galactica Roleplaying Game.

I’m very much interested in discussing and chatting about game design in general, as well as getting feedback on my various personal RPG projects. I’ll also post reviews of RPGs that I play, and may use the site for some serial novelization/game design.

Questions? Comments? Feel free to post something somewhere, or email me at:

Oh, and just so you know, the “PLC” at the end of my screenname stands for “Practitioner of the Larcenous Crafts.” Two points for anyone who can figure out where I got that from (it’s a movie).

Good bye, and hello, as always.

 Blessed be,

     ~Nathan Rockwood, aka GarrettPLC
